On October 31, 2025, the Department of Science Service (DSS) has organized the second part of seminar with the title "Sustainable Integrated Approach to Achieve CECs and PTEs Removal from Contaminated Water-The Aquaculture Case Study (SusWater): Part 2". A. Asteggiano from the Department of Molecular Biotechnology of Turin contributed to this seminar.
FINAL MEETING & WORKSHOP
16th-17th September, Aalborg (Denmark) - Science and Innovation Hub
On September 16, 2025, the project's final meeting was held in Aalborg, attended by a large number of REs and ERSs. The following day, a workshop was held in collaboration with the IN2AQUAS project, which included part of the day at the Aalborg Zoo to view the wastewater treatment plants. On September 2, 2025, the Department of Science Service (DSS) under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) organized an academic seminar titled “A Sustainable Integrated Approach for the Removal of CECs and PTEs from Contaminated Water – The Aquaculture Case Study (SusWater)”. Dr. Kanit Tapasa, Director of the National Reference Laboratory Institute, presided over the opening ceremony and welcomed Prof. Ornella Abollino (Department of Drug Science and Technology, University of Turin) and Prof. Mery Malandrino (Department of Chemistry, University of Turin), researchers from the Italian Republic.
SEMINAR | The SusWater Project
23rd July 2025, São Paulo (Brasil) - Department of Chemical Engineering of the University of São Paulo (USP)
The event brought together researchers and students to discuss innovative approaches to water pollution monitoring and remediation. Experts from the University of Turin (Italy) shared their expertise: Prof. Paola Calza introduced the SusWater project and various restoration strategies; Prof. Claudio Medana presented advanced analytical techniques using mass spectrometry; and Prof. Maria Cristina Paganini discussed the development of photocatalytic materials active under visible light. Thank you to all participants for contributing to this insightful and engaging session!
